Position Overview

The Chickasaw Nation Department of Health (CNDH) pediatrics is a thriving pediatric practice dedicated to providing comprehensive, patient-centered care in a true medical home environment. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Pediatrician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate is committed to delivering high-quality, evidence-based care in a collaborative setting, working closely with our integrated care team to support the physical, emotional, and developmental health of every child.

For pediatricians interested in hospitalist work, we offer the opportunity to participate in our hospitalist schedule caring for admitted children and Level 1 nursery. During hospitalist weeks, you will have Nurse Practitioner or PA support, followed by a post-call recovery week.

  • Mental Health: Embedded Pediatric Behavioral Health Specialists for mental health support

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
  • Board eligible (BE) required, board certified (BC) preferred
  • Active Oklahoma state licensure or eligibility
  • Passion for education, mentorship and clinical excellence

This position is located within the Chickasaw Nation Department of Health (CNDH) in the Ada Primary Care Clinic located in the Chickasaw Nation Medical Center (CNMC), or in the Satellite Health Clinics located in Ardmore, Purcell and Tishomingo. The purpose of this position is to perform specialty medicine dealing with the physical, emotional and social health of children from birth to young adulthood.

 

Responsibilities

  • Maintains general upkeep of work area and maintains a safe environment
  • Maintains and promotes professionalism
  • Punctual and consistent in meeting start time, work schedule, attendance and other assigned work time metrics
  • Adheres to Chickasaw Nation dress code standards
  • Maintains knowledge of and follows all laws, rules, regulations, policies and SOPs for assigned area, e.g. MICS, TICS, hospital standards, health codes, food sanitation, accounting principles, etc.
  • Protects the patient’s rights, dignity, and privacy
  • Transfers care as appropriate utilizing the SBAR system
  • Acts as a consultant to other physicians
  • Ensures continuity of care
  • Provides comprehensive medical services in pediatric care
  • Performs all other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Able to follow instructions, both written and oral
  • Able to adhere to all scheduling and attendance requirements
  • Honesty, truthfulness, reliability, accountability
  • Able to read, understand, apply, and retain knowledge of Chickasaw Nation, departmental, divisional and all other. rules, regulations, policies, procedures and guidelines
  • Able to verbally communicate in a professional and positive manner with other team members, departments, guests and management
  • Maintains clear and complete employee health records

Education:

  • Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy

Experience:

  • 3 years directly related experience

Licenses:

  •  Board Certification in Pediatrics
  • Pass general background check
  • Unrestricted Drug Enforcement Administration Number
  • Unrestricted Medical License
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support
