Team Structure

Patient Volume & Diversity

  • Manageable caseload: 8-15 patients per day

Qualifications

  • Physical Therapist degree from accredited program
  • Current/active PT license or eligible to sit for NPTE (must obtain license within 3 months of employment)
  • Active Oklahoma state licensure or eligibility to obtain

This position is located within the Chickasaw Nation Department of Health (CNDH) in the Ada located in the Chickasaw Nation Medical Center (CNMC), or in the Satellite Health Clinics located in Ardmore, Purcell and Tishomingo. The purpose of this position is to perform physical therapy services to patients referred to physical therapy and provides supervision and
instruction to the department/facility staff as required.

 

Responsibilities

  • Confers with person(s) most closely associated with the active management of the patient care and keep them informed of any additional patient needs, treatments, modifications and/or progress
  • Implements proper techniques to assist and handle patients, and the ability to handle tools and machines of the profession
  • Coordinates with staff for patient scheduling and implementing physical therapy services
  • Performs housekeeping duties by routine and periodic cleaning to maintain cleanliness and infection control
  • Evaluates assigned patients referred to physical therapy or other offered services by the department
  • Interprets and carries out the prescription of the physician
  • Maintains a patient treatment schedule consistent with the needs of the department/facility
  • Provides and advocates age and culturally appropriate, holistic patient care based upon facility mission statements and as outlined in policies and procedures
  • Performs research and conducts presentations as required
  • Assist managers and/or supervisors identifying staffing needs and recruitment
  • Proposes new ideas to improve offerings, processes and procedures
  • Participates in performance improvement activities to measure, assess and improve the quality of assigned work area
  • Prepares reports as needed or requested
  • Maintains files, logs, and records
  • Participates in meetings to ensure effective communication with staff, peers, supervisors and management

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of relevant privacy regulations such as The Privacy Act, Freedom of Information Act and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
  • Knowledge of physical therapy treatment techniques
  • Able to verbally communicate in a professional and positive manner with other team members, departments, guests and management
  • Basic computer skills

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy or a Doctor of Physical Therapy is required for this position

Experience:

  • No prior experience required

Licenses:

  • Pass general background check
  • Basic Life Support (bls)
  • Licensed Physical Therapist - Must have obtained state licensure or registration as a physical therapist or be eligible to obtain within 90 days of hire
