Pediatric Psychologist

As a pediatric psychologist specializing in children aged 0 to 5 years, this professional conducts comprehensive psychological evaluations to assess developmental, behavioral, and emotional needs. They collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams, including pediatricians, advanced practice providers, speech therapists, early childhood development specialists, behavioral health specialists and nursing, to ensure a holistic approach to each child's care.

Utilizing age-appropriate assessment tools and techniques tailored to the unique developmental stages of young children, the psychologist gathers valuable insights into their psychological well-being. The primary goal is to identify any concerns early on and provide targeted recommendations that support the child’s growth and development, such as therapeutic interventions, behavioral strategies or referrals to additional services.

Description

We are currently looking for a Full Time Pediatric Psychologist to join our Division of Primary Care Clinic and Public Health team located at the Chickasaw Nation Medical Center.

Summary

Provides child and family-oriented therapeutic services as a member of an interdisciplinary team. Works collaboratively with other departments and programs to comprehensively care for patients. Provides expert consultation and written evaluations. Performs psychological evaluations and coordinates Healthy Steps program delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Provides clinical psychological assessments
  • Develops individualized treatment plans for each child
  • Educates family members on what they can do for their child or how to respond to certain behaviors
  • Facilitates skill building groups for employees, individuals, couples, and families
  • Provides family, couple, individual and group therapies as needed
  • Aids in formulating and implementing pre-and post-program inventories to program and/or research participants
  • Performs documentation for client services and/or research protocols
  • Supports the pediatric team in a systems-oriented approach to promoting and protecting child health and development
  • Acts as a consultant to other physicians
  • Collaborates with Hofanti Chokma team to develop education and awareness campaigns aimed at curbing traumatic experiences and improving normative development in the lives of First American children
  • Coordinates and delivers early childhood development and parenting supports in the pediatric medical setting
  • Monitors Healthy Steps program fidelity and provides regular reports to leadership in collaboration with Hofanti Chokma program
  • Provides first class customer service - courteous and helpful to all internal and external customer types

    • Partners with internal and external services as needed to ensure appropriate referral is made

  • Maintains knowledge of and follows all laws, rules, regulations, policies and SOPs for assigned area, e.g. MICS, TICS, hospital standards, health codes, food sanitation, accounting principles, etc.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned

Skills:

  • Skilled in formal and informal assessment protocols
  • Basic Computer Skills

Experience:

  •  1 year directly related experience
  • 1 year directly related supervisory experience (preferred)
Education:
  • Doctorate Degree in directly related field

Credentials:

  • Pass general background check
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support
  • Licensed Psychologist
  • Standard Driver's License
  • Chickasaw Nation Core Leadership Level 1 or completion of leadership training within 12 months of hire or promotion date
