Description

We are currently looking for a Full Time Primary care Advanced Practice Provider to join our Chickasaw Nation Department of Health (CNDH) team. This position is located within the Chickasaw Nation Department of Health (CNDH) at the Ada
Primary Care Clinic located in the Chickasaw Nation Medical Center (CNMC) or the Satellite Clinics in
Ardmore, Purcell and Tishomingo.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to the Chickasaw Nation Department of Health Medical Staff Bylaws and Policies and Procedures
• Maintains a competent, considerate and objective professional relationship with patients to minimize complaints, dissatisfaction or adverse impart regarding services
• Serves on hospital committees and performance improvement teams as assigned by the Chief of Primary Care of Chief of Staff
• Participates in continuing medical education as required by the appropriate Oklahoma Board of Licensure
• Treats all patients with respect and maintains a cooperative attitude with other employees to facilitate quality patient care
• Responsible for continuity of care and provides timely requests for schedule changes, vacation, sick leave and continuing medical education leave to the chief of Service
• Maintains sensitivity to Native American culture
• Provides preventive diagnostic and therapeutic care and services for patients of all ages
• Developing and carrying out patient management plans. Arranging appropriate follow-up or referral as required
• Makes appropriate referrals for definitive management of secondary and tertiary medical care
• Adheres to rules of the appropriate Oklahoma Board of Licensure for Nurse Practitioners or the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants
• Attends at least one medical staff meeting at the Chickasaw Nation Medical Center each quarter of the calendar year
• Performs all other duties as assigned

Typical Qualifications

• Basic computing/typing skills
• Knowledge of relevant privacy regulations such as The Privacy Act, Freedom of Information Act and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)

• Cert Nurse Practitioner
• Successful candidate will possess a current unrestricted state license as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) with prescriptive authority. Will be eligible for Oklahoma license and will secure an Oklahoma license within 90 days of employment
• Successful completion of a formal program of study approved by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing which is designed to prepare registered nurses to perform in an expanded role in the delivery of healthcare. Entry-level preparation for NP practice must meet requirements as set forth in the Oklahoma Board of Nursing rules regarding practice as an APRN
• Successful completion (or pending certification in process) of the national certifying exam given by a national certifying body acceptable to the Oklahoma Board of Nursing
• Must show documentation that he/she has currently been working in a Family Practice advance practice setting within the last 12 months and is able to sufficiently evaluate, manage and treat patients for the scope of practice. New graduate’s training will satisfy this requirement

• Physician Assistant
• Hold valid unrestricted license to practice (or temporary authorization to practice) and be eligible for an Oklahoma license
• Have graduated from an Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) approved program
• Demonstrate successful completion of the Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination administered by the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants, or its successor
• Must be able to document working in a family practice environment with patients of all ages within the last 12 months. New graduate's training will satisfy this requirement

• 2-4 years directly related experience preferred

Licenses:

• Pass general background check
• Requires either a Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• Current unrestricted Oklahoma license
• Unrestricted Drug Enforcement Administration Number
• Standard Driver's License
