Position Overview
The Chickasaw Nation Department of Health (CNDH) dental program seeks a compassionate General Dentist to join our thriving practice serving over 32,000 First Americans annually across four state-of-the-art facilities. In this role, you will perform a wide range of dental procedures independently while enjoying support from our multidisciplinary team. CNDH dentists also have access to a comprehensive referral system to support the various and unique care needs of each patient. A patient’s age may range from very young to elderly making the body of work greatly rewarding and gratifying. - Modern Facility: Equipped with ADEC dental chairs, Kavo handpieces, WaveOne endodontic file system, Steris Washer Disinfector and Steris Pre-vacuum Steam Sterilizer AMSCO400 series
- Team-Based Approach: Staff ratio of 1 dentist: 2 assistants: 1 dental hygienist per pod (team)
- Integrated Services: Access to a comprehensive referral system allowing collaboration with in-house specialties including oral surgery, endodontics, pediatric dentistry and prosthodontics
Call Schedule & Coverage
- 4-10 hour shifts 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday-Thursday or Tuesday-Friday
- All federal holidays observed with clinic closure

Qualifications
- Completed an American Dental Association accredited dental program (DDS or DMD)
- Documentation of work in active dental practice during the last 12 months or recent completion of an accredited program
- Current unrestricted state license and eligible for an Oklahoma license
- Current unrestricted DEA number (Preferred)
- Certification of in residency program for specialty (Preferred)
- Comfortable with simple extractions and some surgical extractions
- Comfortable performing root canals on anterior teeth
- 2 years of clinical experience preferred but new graduates encouraged to apply

This position is located within the Chickasaw Nation Department of Health (CNDH) in the Ada located in the Chickasaw Nation Medical Center (CNMC), or in the Satellite Health Clinics located in Ardmore, Purcell and Tishomingo. The purpose of this position is to perform general dental procedures and services independently daily but have unwavering support from dental and medical multi-disciplinary team members as needed.

- Maintain knowledge of and follow all laws, rules, regulations, policies and SOPs for assigned area, e.g. MICS, TICS, hospital standards, health codes, food sanitation, accounting principles, etc.
- Participates in performance improvement activities to measure, assess and improve the quality of assigned work area
- Maintains an effective working relationship with all Chickasaw Nation staff, departments, and exterior customers
- Facilitates consults, referrals, and form completion as requested and approved by the medical staff
- Develops and maintains care planning for patients and reviews the care plan for assigned patients
- Provide preventative diagnostic and therapeutic care and services for patients of all ages
- Flexibility in cross-training and providing coverage for clinic to clinic
- Performs all other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:

- Requirements for knowledge of blood born pathogens

Education:
- Doctorate of Dentistry
Experience:
- 1 year directly related experience (preferred)
Licenses:
- Pass general background check
